How Dramatic

I’ve decided to write a novel and if I can’t manage that, I’m going to kill myself.

What does the dramatic consist of? Is an artistic vocation inherently self-destructive and destructive? Does the protagonist - the newly divorced single mother, with a job in an insurance company - have the right to sacrifice everything for writing? Is literature a liberating force? Amalie, the daughter, who wonderingly and critically follows her extravagant mother with her gaze? Is the film basically a discussion about the relationship between a mother and a daughter in the struggle to express themselves? And does the mother really mean what she selfishly says, first in the film, which sets the whole drama in motion? Yes, probably.
